    "America was willing to "swallow" Soviet control of Manchuria and Korea as the price to be paid for the Soviet entrance into the war against Japan. This deal was solidified in the Allied conferences of Yalta and Potsdam in 1945". Does this mean that America allowed Soviet to control Manchuria, or that America took over Soviet control of Manchuria?

    Did you see that one paul pierce and 1 three that was called off as an offensive foul. HOLY CRAP. I consider that the worst call in playoff history and byfar the easiest call to make in the history of basketball. How could the refs get that one wrong? Is there any other play you can recall that was called by the referee's that poorly? That call alone can pretty much kill the conspiracy theory about the Nba "wanting" the celtics in the finals.

    Schools like UNLV, BYU, Colorado are Top Tier NCAA schools, receive Federal funding (per the guidelines of Article 9), yet offer no scholarships in Hockey, Lacrosse, or others and as such can't compete with BC or Harvard or Michigan for the NCAA title, but have their own Conference - the ACHA - that is somehow exempt from Article 9.

    as opposed to the ultra competitive West Conference? Case in point: Atlanta Hawks (8th seed ) Record: 37-45 Denver Nuggets (8th Seed) Record: 50-32 If the east wasnt so weak, Boston might have a worse reg season record and NOT have Home court advantage in the finals to the superior Lakers.

    Boston got past an old nemesis to set up a matchup with another rival. Paul Pierce scored 27 points, Ray Allen had 17 and Kevin Garnett added 16 to lift the Celtics to an 89-81 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Friday night in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals. Boston, which locked up with Detroit many times in the 1980s, will now rekindle another classic series in the NBA finals against the Los Angeles Lakers.

    The Pistons had a 8 point lead going into the 4th and considering home court advantage they should have held on to the lead, but instead they got outscored 29-13. I got the perception that it was more a total lack of effort on their part rather than Boston being terrific. After losing in the conference finals they seemed to treat the game (and game 3) as an ordinary regular season game. In the closing seconds of the game, it seemed to me the players' faces weren't particularly grim and serious like you'd expect from a losing team, they weren't happy but it felt more like indifferent. Did the Pistons not really care, or were they just not skilled enough, or could there have been some strings pulled in the background that encouraged them to not try?

    I'm a huge pistons fan and i'm pissed that the celtics won(thanks to the officials). I don't know what dumars is going to do, but i think that firing flip ism't the answer. I think something kind of drastic has to happen. I say we keep the best backcourt in the league intact(Billups and Hamilton) but i'm not set on the other players. For as much as i love sheed he is either really hot or super fing freezing, and it kills us. I think dumars should maybe start maxiell next year, i'm sure hes ready for it. Tayshaun is great defensively but he is almost near pathetic on the offensive end. I mean something has to happen 6 straight years in the eastern conference finals and out of those 6 only 2 finals appearances and 1 ring, not good enough. What do you think should happen?

    Boston wins against detroit, typical detroit choke job. Am I the only one who is blaming flip saunders coaching for this? I mean since he became coach we jobbed 3 eastern conference finals in a row. So my question now is, do you think flip saunders will get fired as the pistons coach due to 3 pathetic ecf performances in a row? i hope he does. sorry to sound ignorant but thats just my opinion.

    I have been best friends with this guy for about 6 months. I write poetry, and I couldn't help my feelings, so I wrote a poem about him. As you can imagine, I like him as more than friend. He read the poem, but I didn't tell him it was about him. Then he asked...and kept asking...so I told him. He didn't know what to think (or so he told me). His girlfriend broke up with him a few weeks before that. He told me that he wants to get over her first. We agreed to try to go back to friends. After that he got really gittery and almost flirty. Then the next day, he was just a normal old friend. Then he tells me that he likes this morman girl (he is morman...I am not) He invited me to this Youth Conference. He said that he will be standing by her the whole time and that I will know who she is at the dance afterwards. He never told me her name. Is it possible that this mysterious girl is me? He also got kind of depressed when I said the poem didn't matter (i lied). Any ideas???

    I am going to a 3 day higher-education conference that lasts from 8:30a.m until 7p.m. at night. The issue is, I cannot afford the hotel room and it is a 2.5 hour drive (which would cost over $120 with gas prices the way they are). I was curious if I were able to get people to donate money for the hotel, would it count as a tax-write off for them? How is Goodwill a charity and qualify for a tax write-off then? They turn around and resell the items for profit. How does a parent qualify a college tuition payment as a tax write-off? That is not charity? The cost of the conference is a tax write off. The hotel will also be a tax write off for me since I am obviously unable to grant that to others, I will grant it to myself as a business expense - since that is exactly what it is.

    It seems like these last couple of years of high school shot by so fast I don't even know what happened, it seems like I just started yesterday, and I just have one more year left. I here as a junior the teachers are meaner, the work is more stressful and because this year of high school actually determines whether or not you graduate, there's so many conferences you have to go to. I'm sorry, but I wish I was a freshmen all over again because when I was younger I always used to be like "I cannot wait until I am in high school and closer to gettin' up outta my mama house" (That's the way I talk lol) but anyway I know it's close to summer vacation here in Texas but I'm stressed! It seems like Junior year is gonna be such a blur. Did anyone entering Junior year feel this way? And what can I do to put my mind at ease? ....True lol

    making the NBA finals in the most competitive conference in NBA history by beating the 1st 50 win team TO EVER MAKE THE PLAYOFFS as an 8 seed (Denver), beating the team with one of the BEST HOME RECORDS EVER (37-4 record at Home by Jazz and Lakers beat them there to close out the series), and beating the defending champions Spurs on their way to the NBA finals while playing with no Bynum, no Ariza and a Derek Fisher with a torn tendon in his foot, a Sasha Vujacic with a sprained big toe and a Kobe Bryant with back and knee problems along with his pinky that requires surgery and a Gasol and Odom that have been very inconsistent in the playoffs and have been dominated and regularly negated in most of hte games

    All the NBA west supporters do me a favor, stop hating our NBA west, we want west to win the title each year, if u dont, I do. Thanks to the Lakers and Spurs we run the west very strong. 1999 till 03 NBA west had the title run. Who dominated entire NBA it was Spurs and Lakers. Dont make excuses, LA earned it, we didn't spurs fan. I want La to bring the title to NBA west again this season, most of u dont care about what Im saying, but no joke I want LA to get the title for NBA west. Lot of Mavs fan and others hating on who ever they lost with. We are not like Pistons crying for no reason, for Pistons fan they always make excuses when they lose a series.     He beat Niemenim 6-1 6-3 6-1 had treatment at begining of 3rd set won that pretty comfortable. However im concerned about his foot :( Does anyone no what Rafa said after the match? Did he comment on his blisters ?     Next Stop: Championship. Glory Days are back! YES! Good luck in the future to the spurs. They have an old roster but you still cannot count out a team with Duncan, parker, and ginobli. I am sure they will come back strong next year. Our journey isn't over yet. We still have to win the championship until the stroy is said and done. We will have to face formidable opponent, either Celts or Detroit. Hopefully Celtics.!

They do fine in first year record 6-6 Washington State: Paul Wulf: Another Cougar getting scratche dup in first year play has more claw than Houston though but too tough of a conference than CUSA record 4-8 UCLA : Rick Neuheisal: Finally in time we can stop talking about those darn trojans year after year.     In the 5 seasons that he's been Milwaukee's leading scorer, they've had zero winning records, two 1st-round exits, and three seasons not making the playoffs in the eastern conference. Redd is mostly known for his scoring (22.7 points this season), but his shooting (44.2% on FG and 36.3% on 3-pt) isn't very efficient. He only averaged 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists, and he's considered a poor defender. Could Redd ever be the best player for a championship contender? I agree with APBuckley, Cavs don't need Redd. He's mainly catch-and-shoot player, except he's not that great of a shooter. whoops I meant APbuckey
