Nursing????
It will get easier as you get further into it.
Everything's tough to start with.
Animals will be much harder to work with.
If you are thinking of being a vet you will have to be very highly qualified-much more so than a nurse!
Phlebotomist. It is not really called a nursing profession though. They work out of the laboratory in a hospital and are overseen by the Pathologist.
It's because every state requires you to have clinical experience which is physically at a hospital.
Initial licensure for RN's does NOT exist, that is why you can't find a program.
What I would suggest, is complete a nursing program in Japan, and then find out what you have to do to transfer here. Usually if you have a foreign degree, and can demonstrate proficiency in English (which you can clearly do), you can challenge the NCLEX-RN...you don't have to complete an entire nursing program here too.
There are alot of nurses that come to the USA from other countries.
and this has what to do with immigration.....although San Francisco does appear sometimes to be another world unto itself, it is still part of the US
There are more men in nursing than you might think. You often can find financing for college easier to find in a nontraditional area.I work with several male nurses. We have a shortage of nurses so its a good field to get into.Especially if you enjoy taking care of people.
It really depends on how complicated your patients are, what shift you work and how much help you have from nurse extenders (CNAs and LPNs).
it'll be good for nurses because now they'll be government employees. I can see it now...unions, mandatory working conditions and staff patient ratios, top tier health insurance, excellence my friend.
Unfortunately it'll be bad for the American people. You can pretty much say goodbye to elective services such as plastic surgery and gastric bypasses. You'll also have long waits to see a health care provider, since now we have to treat 300 million people at any given time. And who the heck is going to pay us nurses? The taxes will be increased dramatically. It's a bad idea any way you slice it

Getting a nursing degree in the state I live then moving out of state for a job. How does this work?
You didn't mention whether you were taking the LPN or RN course work. Colorado has a different application for each. Once you pass the state nursing board and get licensed in FL, you can be endorsed as an RN to practice in Colorado by filling out an application, and paying the fee. Most states honor nursing boards in other states with reciprocity (thanks to the nursing shortage.) Links for more information on Colorado Nursing Board. Good luck.
Why don't you volunteer at a hospital or blood bank or other agency where you will get some exposure to nursing? That way you will have a much better ideal of your chosen field. It would also help you understand the clinical classes that much better.
Impossible to tell.
(The staff might be reluctant to give you a meaningful answer because they can't be sure whether you're a journalist researching some 'knocking' story. Numbers enrolled in different disciplines, numbers changing from one to the other, courses being 'telescoped' from two years into one, students 'externalised' for placements, and all sorts of other issues affecting the totals averages, can have political implications. Alternatively, they may have assumed that you want to apply, and given you the information that allows you to statistically compare your chances of success there with your chances at other institutions.)
Rather than asking the office, you can get a better idea of numbers by researching the institution. Find out how many graduated last year, the capacity of the school's buildings, the number, length and type of courses they provide, and other indicators, by obtaining prospectuses, planning applications, Annual Reports, and newspaper articles.
4 weeks is far toooooo early for a kitten to be taken from it's mom.
You must call and make an appointment with your Vet. The little one might not be getting enoough nourshment and is hungry. You didn't say how long you have them. There is so much to be considered. Have they been dewormed? What is does the stool look like. If there is any change in stool to too soft or hard call your Vet.
Putting the young kitten on a bottle with special formula for cats will definately be a benifit at this age.
The habit of older kittens suckling for that nice feeling is not uncommon. I had a kitten at 5 ms suck on my 4 yr old neutered male. They were best buddies but the 5 yr old got sore nipples. I had taken in the kittens as stray and did find a home for all. I just had to keep alert and distract the younger one.
It is all way best to have your own Vet examine any new cats that come into your home.
This question should more appropriately be asked of the state's Board of Education, and Board of Nursing. You might also get a recent yearbook, and look up some of the graduates, and get their opinions.
Ask a firefighter or police officer to explain it to you. Ask most City or County or Federal Employees. Unions have a History, read it then make a informed decision based on facts.
Carry on breastfeeding and that will help. I don't think dieting is a good idea. Eat what you feel you need to in order to nourish your baby. You will have plenty of time to diet after you have finished breastfeeding. Also, if you don't keep up correct food and drink intake you milk may not be of good quality and may dry up altogether, so make the alturistic choice here.
While I think there should be grants in place to hire more faculty and increase pay for instructors, there is absolutely no way nursing programs should lower their standards.
People lives are depending on the critical thinking skills of a well educated nurse. Nursing school is designed to give you these skill while weeding out the incompetent. Nursing school is rigorous and intense and that should never change.
Even if a person has the heart and the determination to do the job doesn't mean that they should.
To become a CNA you need a certified program, usually lasts about 3 weeks or so. CNA usually make around 10-11 per hour depending on the institution, some will offer as high as 17-18 dolars per hour. Once you get your certification, then you can applied at any institution of your convinience. I do not work in the maternity ward, but I know classmates that do and yes, they do get to work with babies, though I am not sure of how involvement they have.
Hope this helps :)
A prenursing degree allows for you to earn the required course work before entering a BSN program at a university.
Most jobs health-care related will require you to get some sort of certification, at best you could test to become a CNA. Some doctor's office's might hire you as receptionist but they usually prefer Medical Assistants.
If you looking to have a job while going to nursing school, I suggest you get certified as CNA, not only will you earn money but you will learn about nursing especially if you work at a hospital and some of that experience will become invaluable during your education.
the best reusable nursing pads are the popolini one side 100%wool inner side 100% untreated bourette silk.
Basically, you work for a company that contracts to hospitals that have staffing issues. You are then told where to go and when to be there. The pay is great. It's usually about $60-70/hour. However, you should remember...there is usually a REASON that the hospitals have staffing issues!
It's Fatima University..^_^ They use the American way of teaching their nursing students.
