  1. Resolved Question: Could I be pregnant?
  2. 29 May 2008 at 8:49pm
I was on Yasmin for about 3 years. This month I took it the same day everyday. As my "active" pills ran out, I waited for my period to come.It DID come. I hadnt went to the pharmacy to get my prescription to start taking my other pack for about a week. I had unprotected sex during that week after my period, with no birth control of any form. Now I am having clar vaginal discharge and I am bloated down low( seems like where my uterus would be). Could I be pregnant? It has only been 5 days since I had sex. I have not continued my birth control in fear that I might be pregnant.

  3. Voting Question: Pharmacy School Issues.?
  4. 29 May 2008 at 7:52pm
This is my problem: I went to UC Santa Cruz I'm graduating this year (Intensive Psychology) and I have decided that I want to go to pharmacy school. I have not taken any of the requirements, except for speech, english, and math (pre-calculus) and stats. What should I do next? Yes, I know if would have been smarter to transfer from a CC, not the other way around. What's done is done. So now what? Should I just take the pre req. in a community college? will that look bad? Im planning to volunteer at a hospital or pharmacy. I'm not sure what else to do to increase my chances of getting in once I complete my requirements. Please don't be mean, judgmental, or condescending. Thanks. Please be specific. Answers from people who have applied would really help. Thanks.

  6. 29 May 2008 at 6:49pm
First, as you can imagine my confidence in this doc is down. The doc gave me this for Palpatations, which have happened several times recently. I also have Mitral Valve Prolapse, but he wouldnt order an echocardiogram, since he was an ER Doc. The EKG was negative. Several years ago, I was diagnosed with bengin PVC's and my doc at the time gave me Propranolol 20 mgs. It woirked at stopping the palpations. Should I take it? What side effects can I expect? I also take Klonopin .5 mgs for Anxiety and Panic Attacks. Can I also drink beer with this medication?

  7. Resolved Question: Pregnancy tests in France?
  8. 29 May 2008 at 5:59pm
My period is 2-3 weeks late, so I'm probably skipping this month. I'm terrified that I may be pregnant, even though we only practice safe sex and use a condom every single time, no question. I am usually on the pill, but for the past 4 months I haven't taken it, since the price has skyrocketed (the government used to subsidize the pill's price at university health centers and now does not, so I can't afford them anymore). I'm in France now for the next 2.5 months, and I have no idea how to ask for a pregnancy test...also, I'm a little bit embarrassed to have to ask for one at a pharmacy, but I guess I'll have to bite the bullet. Does anyone know the brand name of those tests, and if there is a stigma attached to buying pregnancy tests in France? (The latter question won't change my decision, but I just want to know) Please help me, I'm alone in a foreign country and possibly pregnant and I'm so, so scared. I'd just like to add that I have traveled a lot and so I wasn't stressed at all, and traveling doesn't generally mess up my cycle. I did just get home from college a couple weeks ago, so I was thinking that maybe I was readjusting to fit my mom's schedule, or something like that, but I don't want to take the chance and have a surprise baby when I'm on the toilet...haha

  11. Resolved Question: Can Effexor XR and Hydroxyzine be taken together?
  12. 29 May 2008 at 5:28pm
I was prescribed Hydroxyzine back in December to help subside the itching of psoriasis so I could sleep at night. About 2 months ago my Doctor but me on Effexor XR. When I had the Effexor XR prescription filled the Pharmacy didn't tell me to stop using the Hydroxyzine (I always have my prescriptions filled at the same Pharmacy). So I was just wondering if they can be taken together. Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

  35. Resolved Question: What percentage of seniors are actually responsible?
  36. 28 May 2008 at 11:18pm
I know they are not perfect, but sometimes it gets under my skin when I interact with irresponsible old people. I work in a pharmacy and they do not even know what medications they are taking and expect me to memorize everyone of them. They get mad if their insurance would not pay for their erectile dysfunction medications, which is by no means a necessity.

  38. 28 May 2008 at 11:09pm
For the last three days I have broken out in really itchy hives. The doctor diagnosed it tonight and said he couldn't give me steroid cream but I could take Benedryl. Unfortunately the pharmacy is closed and I have to deal with them until morning. Anything I can do now to help them? Also what causes them?

  40. 28 May 2008 at 11:01pm
I am 22 weeks along and for the last three days have broke out in horribly itchy hives on my legs, thighs and a bit on my stomach. The doctor told me to take Benedryl which I will get when the pharmacy opens tomorrow. For now I have to suffer with it. What causes it and is there anything I can do to ease them until tomorrow when I can get the benedryl? Also could stress cause them? I have been pretty stressed out and anxious lately or is it something I ate?

  43. Voting Question: Help, need a medication recommendation!?
  44. 28 May 2008 at 9:41pm
I'm starting to lose it, so try to understand the strangeness and the apparent irreverance to the medical establishment of this question. For the past six months I've been seeing things. Or at least I think I'm seeing things. The other day I walked out to my car and a chinese lion was sitting in my driveway. It looked like those lion sculptures you see out front of chinese restaraunts. We have a little one in our living room, except it doesn't move and ask me if I'm "ready for work." When I saw it I was scared as hell and ran back inside. When I came back out it was just my car sitting there. Anway, I don't have health insurance so I'm looking for alternatives to a shrink. I think what I need are some antipsychotics. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what I need. I've done a little online research and think I should get some Haldol through an online pharmacy. I have a site I've bought from without a scrip before. Is this the right drug or should I try something else?

  55. Resolved Question: How funny is this?
  56. 28 May 2008 at 6:05pm
DIVORCE VS. MURDER A nice, calm and respectable lady went into the pharmacy, walked up to the pharmacist, looked straight into his eyes, and said, "I would like to buy some cyanide. "The pharmacist asked, "Why in the world do you need cyanide?" The lady replied, "I need it to poison my husband." The pharmacist's eyes got big and he exclaimed, "Lord have mercy! I can't give you cyanide to kill your husband. That's against the law! I'll lose my license! They'll throw both of us in jail! All kinds of bad things will happen. Absolutely not! You CANNOT have any cyanide!" The lady reached into her purse and pulled out a picture of her husband in bed with the pharmacist's wife. The pharmacist looked at the picture and replied, "Well now, that's different. You didn't tell me you had a prescription."

  57. Resolved Question: Is 22 old to be starting pharmacy school?
  58. 28 May 2008 at 5:33pm
Well, I'm going to be finishing up my bachelors this year, taking a few extra semesters to finish up pre-reqs, and then I'll be applying to pharmacy school, which I'm certain I'll get into because I have excellent grades and pharmacy exp. in a hospital. I'm just concerned that starting pharmacy school at 22 and getting out at 26 I'll feel "too old for school." What's the normal age to be starting pharmacy school?

  65. Resolved Question: will the doctor write a doctors note for me?
  66. 28 May 2008 at 3:14pm
Sunday I left work early to go to the ER because of a PAINFUL Urinary tract infection. They gave me a prescription to medicine which I was unable to get on that Sunday because the pharmacies were closed, as well as on Monday due to it being Memorial Day. I did work Monday and Tuesday althought I was still in a little bit of pain. Which Tuesday I was so busy I didnt have time to get my prescription ONCE AGAIN. But today, I started getting SEVERE back pains on the right side of my back, just below my ribs which carried all the way around to my lower abdomen. I started getting Dizzy, nauseated and what not so I called in to work, made sure to fill my prescription and I took a pill. I am wanting to wait until Tomorrow to go to the doctor, just so i know if the pills are working or not. Will the doctor write a note for TODAY if i go in tomorrow? If I let him know i couldnt go to work due to my infection?

  68. 28 May 2008 at 3:09pm
I take a daily prescribed dose of hydrocodone 10/325 for my knees and back (1 yr after surgery and still hurting). Recently, learning that I have endometriosis and a cyst at the moment. I went to my OB, who prescribed me percocet 5/325, 1-2 / 4-6 hrs (after I advised that the Hydro wasn't cutting it). The script was filled with no problem. Following up with my OB a month later, she gave me another prescription for percocet. This time, the pharmacy called her and advised that I had recently filled a script for hydrocodone and would not fill the percocet. I'm confused. Why was it no problem last month? Now I'm embarassed and taking 2 hydrocodone's daily to deal with the severe pain. As per my OB, if I can't take it, I should go to the emergency room and expect surgery to remove. 1 Perc in day and 1 Hydro at night seems to work partially. Any suggestions? Have a refil left for Tylonol 3. Will they decline that one too? Who makes the call?

  72. 28 May 2008 at 2:18pm
i am currently studying to become a nurse, i am going to a community college and sometimes it gets difficult to pay for the tuition and books. I do really good at school and i got a scholarship for the next semester. Now i might be moving to GA, where there are bigger school and i would like to get into pharmacy school, i am very dedicated but i am afraid i won't be able to do it because i can't afford the tuition. From past expierences i realized that i don't qualify for financial aid because of my husband and i worry that i won't be able to fulfill my dreams, that is why i thought of nursing since is a short career and can do it in a community college, but i realized is not what i really want to do. I am not originally from here, if not from Argentina, and it is hard for me to understand how the system works. Is there a way i can find out about scholarships or anything that will help me to get through school? i just want to know what my options are. Thank you for you help!

  73. Resolved Question: Tell me,what do you think of this?
  74. 28 May 2008 at 2:12pm
So today was my 1st doctors visit for this pregnancy. They determined I'm 7 weeks. I calculated and did one of those online pregnancy calculator things..I would be 8 weeks on Friday according to that. He took a whole week off! I don't get how that works. lol anyway....He said everything looks super healthy and good. He wrote me Rx for prenatals. So I take it to my Walmarts pharmacy. I called first they told me it was any from .50 to $2 for the RX ( my insurance covers it) So I go and the chick is like " It says cash price is $131.80. My jaw dropped. She says my insurance might not cover it... My OB wrote me a Rx for prenatals without iron and WITHOUT folic acid...I'm no doctor..but don't I NEED those? So the pharmacy is waiting for him to call back. They said thats the 2nd weird Rx they got from him this week. I'm a little unimpressed! What would you think? oh and HE KNEW what insurance i have. (the state insurance) so he told me it would be covered he never mentioned any reason to have a special Rx

  79. Resolved Question: TTC question?
  80. 28 May 2008 at 8:34am
I was suppose to start taking clomid on CD3. But between my doctors office and my pharmacy screwing up, I didnt get the pills until CD4. So I just took them from CD4-CD8. I didnt really think anything of it at the time, but I am now wondering how this will affect my ovulation. Has anyone ever taken there clomid a day late? What were the effects. Should I just expect ovulation to be a late or will it change my cycle in other ways? Could I not ovulate at all now? I normally have long cycles. Last month I ovulated on CD29, but I got positive OPKs from CD27-CD29. This month I am already on CD30 and still no positive OPKs or temperature rise. When is too long? When should I give up and call my doctor? Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Here are my BBT charts: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/123c...

  85. Resolved Question: Extremely Itchy pubic region?
  86. 28 May 2008 at 4:55am
For over a year now i've been extremely itchy in my pubic hair region, (there is no pressence of lice) and I do shave. Sometimes when I scratch the area is very dry and flaky, other times it looks red and irritated, I guess from all the scratching. Over this period i've also had boils and now a heap of little sores have appeared (which happened overnight) they had white heads and when I squeezed them pus came out, they crusted over and crusts have now fallen off and now just reveal craters with red immflamation around them which are itchy and tender, underneath the sores feels like hard lumps. The sores have spread on my inner thighs towards my bottom and I even have one on the back of my calf. I'm too embarrassed to go to my doctor. Is there any over the counter stuff I can get at the pharmacy? such as an antibiotic cream or something? Any help to what this might be would be greatly appreciated.

  93. Resolved Question: Red blotchy face..?
  94. 28 May 2008 at 1:31am
I don't know if it's from pregnancy or not but my face is blotchy with red spots and has been. Here's the problem-- I live in Southern Arizona and it's already getting over 100 degrees almost everyday, so wearing makeup that covers it is almost completely pointless. What are some good cleansers or moisturizers that will at least reduce the red, especially around my nose? And do those facial tanning lotions help any? Also can you suggest something I can buy at the pharmacy/Wal-Mart since they are more affordable.

leaving his little brother, Shaun behind. Shaun is 38 and always lived at home except for college. I used to take their dad to the doctor when needed. Now, Shaun requests me take him to the eye dr. b/c his eyes will be dilated. Mark takes care of me financially and I don't do anything w/ my day. He feels sorry for Shaun b/c he doesn't have anybody and says the little company he will get with me and lunch together would be good. Mark is super busy working crazy hours and asked me to take Shaun. This time Shaun has worked himself up that something is seriously wrong w/ his groin and wants a ride to the doctor. I pitched a fit. He's so worked up that Mark said he almost cried when he told Shaun I couldn't take him. Am I being selfish? Mark tells me Shaun is a momma's boy. Shaun lives 55 mi away in the country. 50 mi back to the dr. 50 mi back to his house and 55 back to mine. There are any good drs. closer than that. Shaun is a pharmacist in a CVS pharmacy 25 mi from his house. He is an odd person. He has a sense of humor that only he thinks is funny. He asked me to drive to his house down the freeway a different way. I asked where are going and he said "down a road to have my way with you" and then he laughed. Another time he made a comment that in his small town I would get arrested if the cops saw my jugs. My problem is that I did not call him on it. I didn't know what to say. Mark said not to worry about it that it's Shaun's sense of humor and he meant nothing by it. I think I hate the guy. Is it me? He had brain surgery when he was 17 and takes meds for seizures. He says he could have a seizure when he's under a lot of stress. He hasn't had one sense I've known him. He's not mentally or physically challenged that I know of.

  99. Resolved Question: Are they sincere? Would it even be POSSIBLE for them to be...

Everyday you new new photographs of Hillary or Obama or McCain participating in some random activity in some random town. You'll see Hillary visiting a pharmacy talking about medical costs. Today I saw a picture of Obama visiting some couple's house about forclosures, Do these candidates ACTUALLY give a crap? I mean do you think a rich man like Obama would actually give a hoot about some random couple who may have some housing problems?!? Obama is at a new place everyday pandering left and right. WHY DO THEY EVEN BOTHER?!? I think it sickens any individuals with good judgement. And no offense, but what kind of loser would want to have a meeting with a politican about not being able to pay your own bills. Talk about degrading.< >
